Speaking at the breakfast
Speaking at the breakfastToday was a working day for me and I am tired. This is not great. I am going to have to delegate more. That is for sure. The parade was today and the expo opened. We have a booth at the exposition so we had to set it up and later work it.

The day started with our member breakfast. This is where we meet all of our athletes that are doing the race. This is always fun as I can then put a face with a name. After some good food Mark spoke about his races and about dealing with the unexpected. Then I talked a bit about performance expectations that can cause too much stress and back fire. I reminded people to enjoy the day. It is great to be here and to be able to line up at the start. We never know what lies ahead, many will a back in future years but for many this will be their one race in Kona. So enjoy it and do not let expectations get in the way of that.

I also got to register and get all my goodies, chip, program, numbers, cap bags etc. What an ordeal this was. I had forgotten. I have not really looked in the bag yet. I have not had time. At some point I have to put on my racing athlete hat on. Maybe that is why I have not been nervous. Maybe the swim bike and run I am doing tomorrow will do the trick.

I posted yesterday’s blog a little late so make sure you read yesterdays post. It has a movie of dig-me beach Oh yeah, before I forget there was a small earthquake this morning. I did not feel it but Mark Allen did. I am going to buy a “I survived the Hawaii Earthquake” shirt. They are selling those now.
